CANDLE CARE

Please read through our candle care tips to ensure a safe and long lasting candle experience.

Please store candles in a cool, dry area out of direct light. Natural waxes have a much lower melt point than paraffin and are very sensitive to heat and light. 100 % soy candles will discolor when exposed to intense light.

  • Remove all packaging and tags before lighting candle.
  • Trim wick to ¼ inch before each burn. Cotton wicks are delicate and break easily so trim with care.
  • Always burn candle within sight, out of reach of children and pets. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
  • Keep candle away from drafts.
  • Keep wax free of wick trimmings and matches. These can ignite and cause a hazardous situation.
  • If flame smokes or becomes too high, extinguish flame, allow to cool, trim wick and relight.
  • Do not move candle while burning.
  • Extinguish by dipping wick into melted wax.

BEESWAX PILLARS and CAKE PILLARS

  • Natural waxes require much larger wicks than paraffin. Especially in beeswax, it is very important to keep the wick trimmed to no more than 1/8” to ¼” before and during each burn to avoid too large of a flame.
  • Allow the wax melt pool to reach within ½”  to ¼”of the edge of the pillar for EACH burn. This keeps the sides intact, allowing the candle to glow from within. As the candle burns down, the sides will slowly melt away, preventing the wax from spilling over the edges.
  • Always burn pillars in a fireproof pan or bowl that will catch liquid wax in the event of a spill over.
  • If flame becomes too high or smokes, trim wick and relight.
  • Drafts will cause uneven burning and candles to drip.

BEESWAX VOTIVES

  • Place votives in a snug fitting votive holder.
  • Keep wick trimmed to 1/8” to ¼” before and during burning to prevent a large flame and glass from overheating.

SOY JARS

  • Allow your jar candle to burn long enough to liquefy the wax to the sides of the jar each time you burn. This will prevent your candle from burning a hole down the center.
  • Keep wick trimmed to ¼” at all times.
  • Burn no more than 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Discontinue use when ½” of wax remains to prevent glass from cracking or shattering.
  • If candle is misused, glass may crack or shatter.
